Richard Lee Burkholder, Iii

Richard Lee Burkholder, III, 79, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, January 21, 2011.  He was the husband of  Shirley  Burkholder .

 

Mr. Burkholder was born Wednesday, September 16, 1931 in Lynchburg, VA, a son of the late Harry Palmer Burkholder and of the late Frances Burkholder  Burkholder.   He was retired from A & P Grocery where he was the Meat Manager.  He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.

 

In addition to his spouse, he is survived by a son: Rick Burkholder, Debra; a brother:  Clarence Burkholder, Sr.; two grandchildren: Laurel Burkholder and Ricky Lee Burkholder.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, Lynchburg .  A celebration of Richard's life will be conducted at  Pleasant  View Baptist Church on Monday, January 24, 2011 at  11:00 AM with Dr. Ricky Ewing officiating.  Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
