Richard Lee Carr, Sr.

Richard Lee Carr, Sr., 86, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023. He was the son of the late William Harper Carr and Laura Madge Wingfield Carr
Richard was born on June 19, 1937, in Roanoke, Virginia. He proudly served in the United States Navy and retired from Penske/Row Furniture.
He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Richard loved the beach, riding his motorcycle, and flying planes after obtaining his pilot license. He also enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Richard will be missed by all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his wife, Yvonne Carr; son, Richard Carr, Jr. and wife, Patty; daughter, Susan Ames; three estranged daughters, Mary Ann, Denice, and Linda; four stepchildren, Rex Schilling and wife Laura, Donna Wade and husband David Cooper, Eric Schilling and wife Dorothy, Michelle Barrow and husband Leonard. He is also survived by multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mary Feazell.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Coopers Cove Community Center.
