Richard Lee Scott Jr., 60, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, January 18, 2015.
Born Tuesday, June 08, 1954 in New Castle, IN, Richard was a son of Richard Lee Scott and the late Peggy O’Neil Scott.
In addition to his father, Richard is survived by his children: Bill Scott and his wife, Lisa, of Rock Hill, SC, Jarrod Scott and his wife, Kimberly, of Lynchburg, Ian Scott and his wife, Emily, of Forest, Olivia Scott, of St. Louis, MO, and Emma Scott, of Gladys, two grandchildren, Katie Mae and Liam Scott, six brothers: Jeff, Brad, David, Luther, Taylor, and Clayton Scott, a sister, Tammy Campbell, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard loved his family. His favorite time was when all the children were home together. He was a hard worker, having worked for Coleman Adams Construction for 35 years. He proudly served our country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Richard knew he was loved by “The Big Man” upstairs.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Richard’s life will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home with his son Bill Scott officiating.
