Richard Lee Woodfin

 

Richard Lee Woodfin, 71, of Madison Heights died Thursday April 26, 2012. He was the husband of the late Jean Taylor Woodfin.

 

Richard was born September 30 1940 in Lynchburg a son of the late Wilmer Ansley Woodfin and the late Evelyn Kirby Woodfin. Richard honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of both the American Legion Post #16 and the Moose Lodge #715. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved playing cards with the guys.

 

He is survived by two sons: Richard L. Woodfin, Jr. and wife Debbie; and Robert L. Woodfin and girlfriend Kim White all of Madison Heights, one grandson Robert L. Woodfin, Jr. and fiancée Katie, and one great grandson Hunter L. Woodfin all of Madison Heights, and one brother Robert H. Woodfin and wife Marion of Scottsburg.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by one brother William A. Woodfin.

 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Monday April 30, 2012. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Monday April 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights with Pastor Robert H. Woodfin, Jr. officiating.
