Richard Leo McGrath, 83, of Monroe died at his home Monday August 24, 2015. He was the loving husband of Carol C. McGrath.
Richard was born December 26, 1931 in New York, NY, a son of the late Edward J. McGrath and Elizabeth McCartney McGrath. Richard honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was retired as a Program Manager with General Electric in Burlington, VT.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Jill McGrath Carter, of Holly Springs, NC, three sons: Mitchel McGrath and wife Aleta of Grand Isle, VT; Randon McGrath and wife Karen of Chattanooga, TN; and Daniel McGrath, a step-son Rob Jones and wife Ann of Fairfax County, nine grandchildren: Wilson, Collin, Graham, Casey, Aiden, Brandon, Holly, Cameron, and Caitlin, two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Erin.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
A graveside service for Richard will be held September 10, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA, with full military honors.
