Richard Walter Williams II, 69, of Colonial Heights, formerly of Lynchburg, VA, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015. Born on July 10, 1945, Richard was the son of the late Charles Berkley Williams and Nancy Gowen Williams. He is survived by his wife Carol Williams, a daughter Laura Paige Brooks and her husband Brian and granddaughter Sophie; a step daughter Barbara White and her husband Paul and grandchildren Kyle, Brianna, and Charlie; a sister Mary Ann McCall and her husband Edwin; three nieces Kim Staley and husband Don, Melissa Caston and husband Dave, and Ellen Velissarios and husband Dino, and a nephew Eddie McCall and wife Mindy, and special great nieces and nephews Olivia, Julia, Styliana, Tyler, and Zach. He is also survived by his former wife Linda Trammell Williams.
Richard was a graduate of E.C. Glass High School and Lynchburg College. He had a career in law enforcement working as a police officer for the Lynchburg Police Department and retired from the Virginia State Police as a Computer Forensic Analyst.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday July 10, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Peakland United Methodist Church with Rev. John Vest and Rev. Jason Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
