Richard Wayne Tomlinson, 69, of Lynchburg, died Saturday, August 26, 2017. He was the loving husband and best friend of Kristine Tomlinson, for 26 years.
Born Monday, March 15, 1948 in Lynchburg, Richard was a son of the late Houston Wesley Tomlinson and the late Alice Martin Tomlinson.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a step daughter Colleen Belcher.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by a daughter, Crystal Brooke Tomlinson; two step sons, Craig Brown, and Timothy Brown; five grandchildren, Tyler Wright, Jonathan Brown, Zachary Brown, Jordan Brown, and Austin Brown; three great grandchildren, Kimberlynn Wright, Kenna Wright, and Killian Wright; a sister, Marion Taylor and her husband, Danny; and two nephews, Danny Lee Taylor, and Jason Taylor.
Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served our country for 27 years as a member of the Navy, Army National Guard. He was retired from Southern Air where he worked for 28 years. In his spare time Richard loved boating, fishing, shooting, and hunting.
