Ricky Dean Nichols, 56, of Coleman Falls passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband and best friend of Helen Thomas Nichols.
Born December 2, 1957 in Lynchburg, he is the son of Richard Elmer Nichols and Alice Vess Nichols.
Ricky was employed with Georgia Pacific. He was a member of Big Island Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ricky is survived by his sister, Tonia Henry; stepsons, Gene Carman III and wife, Rachel, Ray Carman and wife, Katie; step-grandchildren: Gene Carman IV, Taylor, Cason, Hailey, Raygan, Truett, Knox; niece: Samantha Overstreet and husband, J.R.; and nephew: Adam Henry.
Family will receive friends Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at Big Island Baptist Church, Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Big Island Cemetery.
