Robert Arthur "Bobby" Bryant

July 7, 1942 — January 2, 2021

Robert Arthur “Bobby” Bryant, 78, of Madison Heights, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 2, 2021. He was the loving husband of Betty Seay Bryant for 49 years, until she lost her long battle with Parkinson’s Disease, during which time he was an incredible and selfless caregiver. Later in life, he had the incredible and fortunate opportunity to find love and sincere happiness again, with Jane Fields Bryant, with whom he was wed in October 2019.

Bobby was born on July 7, 1942 in Lynchburg, the son of the late Arthur Dabney Bryant and Virginia Roberts Bryant. Bobby was retired from VDOT, served his country in the Army National Guard, and was an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, where he loved ministering through the 50+ group with his incredible musical talents.

In addition to his loving wife “Mama Jane” Fields Bryant, Bobby is survived by his two sons Forrest Dale Bryant and his wife Diane, and Ashley Daniel Bryant; one sister, Linda Bryant Miller; and four grandchildren, Stephanie, Chad, Daniel, and Rachel.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home in Madison Heights.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Briarwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Daryl Donald of Living Water Baptist Church, where Bobby and Jane more recently became members, officiating.

For everyone’s safety, masks and social distancing will be required for family night as well as the service at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory of Madison Heights is assisting the family.
