Robert B. Beger, of Daleville, passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, after succumbing to pancreatic cancer on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, IL on Mar. 30, 1947 the son of the late Earl William Beger and the late Inez Maurine Alderman Beger. Bob grew up in Chicago and was drafted into the US ARMY at age 19. Bob served our country honorably in Vietnam from 1966-1968 as a Specialist 4th Class. Upon leaving the ARMY, he worked construction in Chicago from 1968-1976. Bob moved to Roanoke, VA in 1976 and worked, as a conductor, for Norfolk-Southern Railroad until his retirement in April 2017.

Bob is survived his two sons, Tyler William Beger and Chandler Robert Beger; and by their beautiful mother, Karen Clark Beger.
“I was always blessed with a great family, and am very proud of my two sons.”
Services and burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Army Veterans at Disabled American Veterans Assoc., 2381 Roanoke Blvd., Salem, VA 24153.
