Robert Thomas Bennett

Robert Thomas Bennett, 90, of Big Island, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was born in Caldwell, WV on January 2, 1934. A son of the late Wallace and Irene Honaker Bennett. In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annie Elizabeth “Ann” Austin Bennett.

Robert was retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill where he worked for many years. He was a member of Big Island Baptist Church. Robert served his country proudly in the United States Navy.

Robert is survived by his two children, Linda B. Burnette and her husband, Scott, and Mike Bennett and girlfriend Tina Dudley; two grandchildren, Matthew Burnette and his wife, Beth and Ryan Burnette and his wife, Kelly; four great-grandchildren, Noah Burnette, Emma Burnette, Savannah Burnette, and Lyndsey Burnette; Also surviving are many friends. The family would like to thank all his friends and neighbors who took such great care of Robert over the years.

A graveside service and celebration of Robert’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Big Island Baptist Church Cemetery “Sunset Hill” with Chaplin Tom Bryant Officiating.
