Robert Hackworth, 79, of Forest, Virginia passed away on October 18, 2023.

Robert was born on January 23, 1944 in Lynchburg. He attended school at E.C. Glass and Lynchburg College, then pursued his career in steel manufacturing with Montague-Betts, Lynchburg Steel, and Steel Joist Institute.

He was a member of Timberlake Church and enjoyed golf and gospel bluegrass music.

He is survived by his wife Frances; children Brian, Greg, and Kevin; his grandchildren Jake, Megan, Lilly, Luke, Sam, Gabe, Chase, and Kaelin; his siblings Jerry and Kay; and many loving friends in the community.

In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his brother Eddie L. Hackworth Jr.

A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2023 at 5 pm at Timberlake Church with Reverend Joe Elmore officiating. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Timberlake Church, 21649 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, 24502.
