Robert “Nick” Minkler Iii,
April 3, 1945 — May 10, 2022
Robert “Nick” Minkler III, 77, of Forest, VA passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Born in Schenectady, NY on April 3, 1945, he was the son of the late Robert Minkler II and Cora Mae Minkler. He is survived by his wife, Janice Minkler, to whom he was married for fifty years.
In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by his daughter, Wendy K. Deitrick and her husband Joe; two granddaughters, Emily K. Deitrick and Reagan L. Deitrick; son Michael R. Minkler and his wife Pamela; two grandsons, Mason R. Minkler and Jameson G. Minkler. He is also survived by one sister, Cathy L. Lequin and her husband Jerry, and several nieces and nephews.
Nick graduated from Indiana University with a degree in economics and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was retired engineer from BWXT, was a member of New London Golf Course, and an avid sports fan.
The family will have an informal Celebration of Life for family and friends from 2:00 – 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the club house located in Jefferson Villas, 1434 Jefferson Way, Forest, VA 24551.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or American Cancer Society in Nick’s memory.
