Robert Roy Kendrick, 81, of Moneta, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Born December 2, in 1929 in Stirrat, WV, his was the son of the late Wayne Kendrick and Nora Woods Kendrick. In addition to his parents his sister, Connie Carroll, preceded him in death.
Bob worked as an Engineering Manager at AT&T Long Lines for 28 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Robert proudly served this country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In his retirement he was an avid NASCAR fan, especially, Tony Stewart and loved fishing and cooking.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Oveda Jean Barnett Kendrick; sons, Robert Roy Kendrick II (Carol), Wayne Marcus Kendrick (Melanie); daughters, Bobbie Jean Turner, Oveda Antoinette Dunnam (Chris); grandchildren, Thomas Mitchell, Samuel Kendrick, Amanda Lynn Reynolds (Jeff), Maxwell Turner, Alexander Turner, Rachel and Katie Kendrick, also several nieces and nephews. His pets, Itzy, Dixie, J.R. and Bebe, will sorely miss him.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Alli Cowardin of Centra Hospice for her special care of Bob during his final days.
