Robert Ruff

Robert Clare Ruff, 77, of Thaxton, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at his residence. He is survived by a daughter Renee Czapla and her husband, David of Fair Haven, MI; also two grandchildren, Shannon and Samantha. Robert retired from the US Army as a Sgt. Major with 42 years of service, after retiring he became a volunteer for the Bedford Co. Sheriff Dept.

A funeral service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Donnie Glass officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 11:00 am until time for the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Dublin.
