Robert William Ferrel
Robert William Ferrel, 72, of Forest, VA, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. He was the husband of Frances Ferguson Ferrel for 28 years.
Mr. Ferrel was born Monday, January 17, 1938 in Craig Healing Springs, VA, a son of the late LeRoy Wilson Ferrel and Nellie Snider Parcell. He retired from the U.S. Military, proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force for twelve years and the U.S. Navy Reserve for nine years. He was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church and Ivy Hills Golf Course where he was an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kitty Bice and husband, Dan, Richmond, VA; Joseph Taylor, Lynchburg, VA; and Susan Taylor, Forest, VA; his brother, Jim Ferrel, Rich Creek, VA; and three grandchildren, Joseph Taylor, Travis Bice and Skylar Taylor.
A celebration of Robert's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Rob Colwell and Rev. Dr. Tom Bryant officiating. A reception for friends and family will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Campbell County Humane Society, PO Box 659, Rustburg, VA, 24588.
