Roberta \"Nell\" Hancock, 93, of Lynchburg, VA, died Thursday, December 09, 2010. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Franklin \"Pug\" Hancock.
Born Tuesday, February 27, 1917 in Belle, WV, Roberta was a daughter of the late Charles Edward Gross and Alpha Bosher Gross.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Nell was preceded in death by her son and daughter in-law Lawrence Edward Hancock and Marsha Hancock.
Nell is survived by a granddaughter, Christie Carwile and her husband, Jason, of Hardy VA, a grandson Lawrence Edward Hancock, II, of Lynchburg, VA, six great grandchildren, Evan Carwile, Erin Carwile, Trey Hancock, Marleigh Hancock, Trevor Hancock, and Gabriella Hancock, and her adopted family, Berkley, Dean and Ashley Carwile.
Nell was one of six children. She grew up and lived in the London area of West Virginia for most of her life. When her son, Lawrence left the area he took Roberta with him, and she lived with the family the rest of her life. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM on Monday, December 13, 2010 in Montgomery Memorial Park, London, WV.
