Robin Lewis Coker (aka Dave Lewis), of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Robin was preceded in death by his father Sherry Coker and sister Lori Coker Short. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Kelly, his mother, Luanne Coker; his sisters, Sherry Coker and Cindy Coker Martin; and brother, Lamar Coker. Robin also leaves behind nephews, nieces, stepchildren, grandchildren, and many friends and fans.
Robin grew up in Lynchburg and graduated from E.C. Glass. He is best known for his work in Lynchburg radio as on-air personality Dave Lewis. He is known for his humor, quick wit, creative writing, and musical talent. Robin contributed articles to Lynchburg Living Magazine, created on-air radio commercials, characters, skits and sketch comedy. He was an unbeatable trivia master, and word wizard at Scrabble. An accomplished musician, Robin enjoyed writing, listening, and playing music, but also enjoyed gardening, his pups and debating (arguing) with his friends and family. As a fervent fan of Georgia Tech, Robin enjoyed a playful rivalry with his neighbor.
A celebration of Robin’s life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
