Roger Lee Rice Sr., 74, of Coleman Falls, VA, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his home. He was the loving husband of Rosalita Branch Rice.
Roger was born on January 13, 1941 to the late Benjamin Rice and the late Sally Sleigh Rice. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, logging, and spending time in his garden.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his son: Rodney Orlando Rice, and his brother: Herbert Rice
Left behind to cherish Roger’s memory are his children: Rebecca Louise Rice (Jason Nicely), Roger Lee Ben Rice Jr., (Elsie Johnson), Ralph Edwin Rice (Sherry), and Randall Scott Rice (Berri), eight grandchildren, one great-grand daughter, one brother: Ryland Rice, and two sisters: Ann White, and Katherine Brown, and many close friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday April 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Hunting Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Carey C. Snellings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will be held after the burial. Please bring a covered dish to Camden Hall following the service.
