Mike East, 78, of Lynchburg, died Friday, September 29, 2017.
Born Romont Nelson East, on July 29, 1939, in Dublin, Va., He was the son of the late Buford and Enid East.
Mike served in the U S Airforce from 1957-1961. He was stationed in Turkey and also in Scotland. He was a radio operator and he worked at General Electric/Ericsson, as a tool buyer, for 42 years and retired from the company.
He was a member of the American Legion and a Mason.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Mazie “Paggie” East. He is survived by his two daughters, Lynn Ramsey and Renee East.
He loved to read, to tell a great story, and he loved to dance. He will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 21, 2017, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post No.16. Masonic Rites will be provided by Edward N. Eubank Lodge No. 262.
