Ronald Earl Wade Sr., took that journey to be with the love of his life, Arlene Brooks Wade on Sunday, January 8, 2016. Ronnie was born on October 24, 1934, in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Mary Creasy Wade and Ernest Alvin Wade. Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Arlene Brooks Wade. In addition, he is survived by one brother, Bobby Wade (Mary) and two sisters-in-law, Edith Brooks Vest (Calvin) and Carolyn Keesee Wade (Buddy). In addition, he was pre-deceased by two brothers; Winston Wade (Evelyn) and Buddy Wade (Carolyn) along with two sisters; Jane Wade Wilson (Woody) and Patsy Wade Taylor. He is also survived by three children: Ronald E. Wade, Jr., Donna Wade Reichard (Charlie England), and Mary Wade Riddle; three grandsons: James Christopher Wade Templeton (Melissa), Trevor Michael Aaron Templeton (Brittany Fields), and Aaron Wade Hall; and two great-granddaughters, Aubrey Claire Templeton and Chloe Elizabeth Templeton.
Ronnie lived his life in private as a proud, honest, truthful person. This was his strength. He loved his children, grandsons and great-granddaughters. Two things brought an instant smile to his face; his love, Arlene and Miss Aubrey, his granddaughter. He spent his life trying to make a good life for his family. He served in the United States Navy and was a loyal and dedicated employee of General Electric for 40 years.
At Ronnie’s request, we will pay our final respects with a graveside service at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Friday, January 13, 2016, at 3:00 pm. We will receive family and friends at the home of his daughter, Donna Reichard, 1265 Valley Vista Lane, Forest, Virginia on Thursday, January 12, 2016, from 6 until 8 pm. Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
