Ronald Edward Carter Jr., of Bedford passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, in Dallas, where he had lived for several years. He was born November 14, 1968 in Lynchburg.
He was christened in Ascension Episcopal Church, March 30, 1969. He attended St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bedford. He received his education at Amherst Academy and graduated from Liberty High School in 1987. He was active in many sports and excelled in all, especially baseball.
Preceding him in death was his stepfather, Arthur Carl Kirby. A favorite dog, Biscuit, also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his mother, Kathleen F. Kirby of Bedford; his father, R.E. Carter and stepmother Cathy of Dallas; step-sisters, Carol K. Hogan of Bedford and Rosemary K. May of Little Rock, Ark.
Others surviving are aunts, Rae F. Medley and husband, Ed, of Lynchburg; Patricia F. Christian of Madison Heights, and Angela C. Moore and husband, Tim, of Lynchburg, and Carole Phillips and husband, Van, of Crossville, Tenn.
Also, uncles Tim Carter and wife, Cindy, of Forest; and Jerry Carter and wife, Carolyn, of Delaware.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 7, 2017. A graveside service will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
