Ronald Henry Eshleman, 74, of Forest, VA formerly of Elizabethtown, went home to the Lord after a 34-year battle with Parkinson\"™s on Friday, January 31, 2014 at Runk & Pratt Senior Living Community, Forest, VA. He was born Friday, June 16, 1939 in Lancaster to the late Harold H. and Barbara J. (Campbell) Eshleman. He is survived by his loving wife Brenda K. (Smith) Eshleman.
He is survived by a son, Todd J. Eshleman and wife Michele S. of Monroe, VA; a daughter, Kim R. Barreca and husband Pastor Paul of Vineland, NJ; 6 grandchildren, David P. Barreca and wife Raya, Michael J. Barreca, Brittany K. Raup and husband Adam, Lauren E., Jonathon T., and James M. Eshleman; 5 great-grandchildren, Benedetto H., Mercedes M., and John P. Barreca, and Gabrial A. and Elliana K. Raup; and a sister, Elaine J. Brenaman and husband Lester A..
Ronald was a 1957 graduate of Elizabethtown High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Pennsylvania State Department of Health Division of Orthopedics, having worked as an Orthotist for 30 years at the Crippled Children\"™s Hospital in Elizabethtown, and for 2 ½ years in the Orthopedics department of the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Church for 42 years before transferring his membership to Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. Ronald was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, devoting much time to his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at 1 PM at Mount Calvary Church, 625 Holly St., Elizabethtown 17022 with Pastor Richard Vaughn and Pastor Paul Barreca officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitationfrom 11 AM until time of the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Elizabethtown Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022.
