Ronald Raney Clary, “Coach Clary” passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 after an inspirational and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born July 5, 1957, to Timothy & Lorene Clary deceased of Hillsville, VA. Ron was also a part of the special brotherhood of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Delia Quijada-Clary, and their children Soledad, Khal and Mayali.. Brothers, sisters, & their spouses Diane and Tom Whitehead of Blacksburg, VA; Connie and Steven Akers of Athens, TN; Tim & Peggy Clary of Mt. Crawford, VA; Hal & Kelli Clary of Huddleston, VA; Richard Clary, of Hillsville, VA; Dr. Michael and Jane Clary of Blacksburg, VA; Wilson and Patricia Clary of Emporia, VA; 3 foster brothers, Tim Costigan of Concord, NC; Phillip Bland of Radford, VA; and Billy Wood of San Antonio, TX. & many special nephews, nieces, cousins, and grandchildren.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Ron Clary Memorial Scholarship set up by his beloved Sig Ep brothers. Checks should be made to “Sig Ep Education Foundation” with a note for the “VA Kappa Ron Clary Scholarship” and mailed to: SigEp Education Foundation, Zollinger House, 310 South Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220; or online at sigep/chapterscholarships, choosing the “VA Kappa Ron Clary Scholarship”.
Funeral services will be held at Cave Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. receiving, and 2:00 p. m. service with a private family burial service in Hillsville, VA at a later date.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory – Roanoke Chapel is assisting the family.
