Ronnie Rucker passed at his residence on March 23, 2021, he was the son of the late Harry Willard Rucker Sr. and Ada McCray Rucker. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Harry Willard Rucker Jr.
Ronnie is survived by a devoted companion of 14 years Janie Smith; three sisters, Linda Rucker, Ada Rucker and Rebecca Dawson; sister in law, Frances Rucker; two devoted cousins, Richard Rucker, and Charles Rucker; fishing partner Ron Lee Rucker his son Ron Jr. , Travis Dawson and other fishing buddies; and a devoted caretaker, Jerome Hubbard; and nieces, nephews, other relatives Geraldine Rucker, and friends.
Ronnie enjoyed fishing, helping people, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed working up until the time his health failed him.
The family wishes to express much appreciation to Centra Hospice of Lynchburg for the care that was provided and given to Ronnie.
A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held 12:00 pm on Saturday March 27, 2021 at the Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg Chapel.
Inurnment will be at a later date. The family and friends will assemble at the residence one hour prior to the service at 1402 Fillmore Street Lynchburg, VA 24501.
