Rosa Goff Crabtree, 81, of Rustburg died Thursday, February 9, 2017. She was the wife of the late James Addie Crabtree for 59 years.
Rosa was born December 5, 1935, in Lynchburg a daughter of the late Thomas Dibrell Goff and Helen Steppe Goff. Rosa was retired from Craddock & Terry and volunteered many hours at the Altavista EMS Thrift Store and Lynchburg General Hospital. She was also a member of the Rustburg United Methodist Church and the Rustburg Senior Citizen group.
Rosa is survived by her son, Barry James Crabtree and his wife, Veronica, of Concord; four grandchildren, Derrick Crabtree and his wife, Amy, of Concord, Brandon Crabtree and his wife, Kate, of Lynchburg, Amber Roach, of Concord, and Cari Crabtree, of Rustburg; five great-grandchildren, Kaizley Roach, Olivia Tyree, Emery Crabtree, Cash Crabtree, and Afton Crabtree; two sisters-in-law, Lila Carr, of Brookneal, and Catherine DeJarnette, of Suffolk; nieces, Cheryl Handy, Sheila Norris, Jane Litchford, Robin Jefferson, and Susie Holt; cousin, Judy Franklin; special girlfriends, Stella Carter and Shirley Wright; close friend, Warren Carwile; other numerous nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Rocky.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Cumbie Memorial Cemetery in Rustburg with Pastor Mark Grooms officiating.
