Roy Anderson Eagle, Sr., 84, of Lynchburg went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2016.
Roy retired as Executive Vice President of American Brokerage Company in Salem, Va. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as head usher. He served for 10 years in the Army National Guard and six months active duty in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Gerry Eagle; daughter, Susanne Eagle Keeler, and husband Kevin Read Keeler; grandsons, Reade Anderson Eagle Keeler, and Gerry Anderson Eagle Keeler (Andy); two sisters, Marian Brooks and Jean Melton. Roy was preceded in death by his parents Robert Stuart Eagle Sr. and Elsie Gladys Davidson Eagle; son, Roy Anderson “Andy” Eagle Jr.; brothers, Robert Stuart Eagle Jr., Clarence Norman Eagle and a special cousin Mickey Buruss.
A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating, calling hours will be one hour prior. Interment will be held the following day on Monday, November 28, 2016 in Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor David Heerspink officiating.
