Roy Lee Hall, 79, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.
Roy was born October 18, 1945, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, a son of the late Pearly Mitchell Hall and Jeannie Stone Hall. Roy was retired from Red Clay School District of Delaware and the Lynchburg Foundry. He enjoyed fishing, sports, music, the casino, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children; Roy Hall, Jr. and his wife Shanah of Petersburg, Lozetta Kaye Browley and husband Timothy of Lynchburg, and Marvin Hall and his wife Shonda of Lynchburg, eight grandchildren, and twenty three great-grandchildren, with one devoted granddaughter Shavon Brown, his siblings; Robert Stone, Mitchell Hall, Francis Hunt, Ellen Evans, Jelene Hall, and Leon Hall, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Moreal Stone, Isiah Hall, Richard Hall, and his daughter Wanda Hall Hilber, and his wife Delois Hunt Hall.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Roy’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with the Elder Joseph N. Davis officiating. Interment will be held privately by the family.
