Ruby Irene Wildman Laughon
February 18, 1941 — July 19, 2014
Ruby Irene Wildman Laughon, 73, of Evington, died Saturday, July 19, 2014. She was born February 18, 1941 in Evington, VA a daughter of the late Elton Wildman and Dorothy Hackworth Wildman.
Ruby was an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and a retired Guidance Counselor of Heritage High School. She loved volunteering for the American Red Cross Blood Drives, keeping up with her grandchildren, reading, gardening, and spending time at the beach.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her son, Brent Laughon. She is survived by two grandchildren, Cecilia Laughon and Agusta “Gus†Laughon; and numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of Ruby’s life will be conducted at 2 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Father F. Wilson Brown, Jr. officiating. Private burial will be held in the family cemetery. An informal visitation will be 9-5 PM, Thursday, August 21, 2014 and Friday, August 22, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
