Ruby Moses Hargis

December 13, 1917 — October 7, 2014

Ruby Moses Hargis, 96, was born in Campbell County December 15, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Norman E. Moses and the late Etta McCraw Moses. She was preceded in death by her first husband Andy Wright and her second husband Thomas Hargis.

She was retired from General Electric, was a member of George Street Seventh Day Adventist Church where she served as deaconess for many years.

She is survived by two daughters: Joesphine W. Smith and her husband Terry of Forest and Connie W. Bane and Robert Decker of Columbia, South Carolina. She is also survived by a step-daughter Betty Hargis West of Altavista and step-son John Hargis of Evington, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren one daughter-in-law Toni Hargis of Lynchburg.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday October 10, 2014 at the Lynchburg Seventh Day Adventist Church.

A Memorial Service for Ruby will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday October 10, 2014 at Lynchburg Seventh Day Adventist Church, 19 George Street, with Pastor Mike Hewitt officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Old City Cemetery 401 Taylor Street Lynchburg, VA 24501.
