Ruth Brown Evans, 76, of Lynchburg died Monday August 25, 2014. She was the wife of John T. Evans, Jr.
Ruth was born September 5, 1937 in Clendenin, West Virginia a daughter of the late Robert H. Brown and Hazel Dye Brown. She was a devoted homemaker and a parishioner of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons: Craig B. Evans of Richmond and Jeff C. Evans and his wife Sharee Goldenburg Evans of Lynchburg, a sister Mary Ann Reece of Houston, TX, and two grandchildren: Cole C. Evans of Richmond and Erin Iva Coates of Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday August 30, 2014 with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Diane Vie officiating.
