Rebecca was a member of the National Railway Historical Society (Roanoke Chapter). Rebecca enjoyed many excursions with her brother Earl and Grandson Dylan. She had a love for the 611 but her love of trains began early in life due to riding the train to Newport News to visit her cousin, Anita Sue, in the summers. Rebecca and her mother loved to go riding on the back country roads, just to find out where the road took them. Rebecca also enjoyed many tour bus trips with Max, seeing many cities along the way.
For the last decade Rebecca suffered with several health issues, strokes, Parkinson’s Disease and metastatic kidney cancer. Rebecca remained at home until her passing as she wished, being cared for by her daughter, Gloria since 2018.
The Family would like to Thank Centra Hospice for the two years of great care Rebecca received. After two years of hospice a relationship develops, that’s more than healthcare, its Friendships as well. Gloria would like to recognize three very special nurses that have become family Kathy, LPN, Teresa, RN, and our first RN of 15 months, Lindsey Frett.
