Sadie Ferguson Wooding

On Monday, August 14, 2023, God sent down his angels for Sadie Ferguson Wooding of Concord, VA. Sadie was born on November 16th 1931, in Appomattox, VA the daughter of the late OK and the late Nannie McCoy Ferguson. She was the wife of the late Deacon George Hamler Wooding.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Horace “Mac” Ferguson, Warren Ferguson, Lester Ferguson, and sisters Eppsie F. Woodson, Eunice F. Henderson, Hazel F. Ferguson, Bernice F. Madison, and Eleanor F. Davis.
She was baptized at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Concord, VA. After her marriage, she joined the Peaceful Grove Baptist Church, Concord, VA where she and George served faithfully until their health began to fail. Sadie loved her family and friends. She loved to garden, cook, and spend time with her family.
Sadie and George were the loving parents of one daughter, Jo Ann Wooding Mosley (Gerald). The loves of her life were her granddaughters Lauren Hope Mosley and Gabrielle Grace Mosley. Sadie is also survived by one brother; Manley Ferguson Sr. of Concord, VA. Devoted nieces; Rowena F. Robinson Concord, VA and Anna W. Fleshman of Lynchburg, VA and nephew Manley Ferguson II (Vanessa) of Concord, VA; a special friend Virginia Woods (Bernard) of Concord, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Many thanks to Centra Hospice and caregivers Scherrie Rucker, Diamonds Johnson-Saunders, Tiffany Lunt and Josephine Mosley. A Homegoing service will be held on 1:30 p.m. Thursday August 17, 2023 at Peaceful Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
