Sally Rusher Kidd

Sally Rusher Kidd, born Bedford County 1918, formerly of Madison, VA, recently of Salem Health and Rehab Center in Salem, VA, passed away October 23, 2012, at the age of 94.  She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse Harry and Bessie Rusher, and her sister Margaret R. Nelson.  Sally was an active member of Beth Car Baptist Church in Madison, VA for 72 years.  She taught in the Madison County school system for 25 years.  She is survived by her husband Garland J. Kidd, Sr. of Roanoke; daughter Sue Carr and husband Charlie of Murfreesboro, TN ; son Joe Kidd and wife Gail of Roanoke, VA; and son Glenn Kidd and wife Betsy of Atlanta, GA; granddaughters Debbie Hargrove, Allison Kidd-Miller, and Katherine HK Walsh; grandsons Andy Carr, Michael Kidd, and David Kidd; and 13 great grandchildren: Austin, Adam, Journey, Veronica, Joey, Aubrey, Caroline, Sadie, Alex, Vivienne, Caleb, Benjamin, and Luca.

Sally requested, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beth Car Baptist Church, PO Box 444, Madison, VA  22727.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 27, 2012, with visitation from 11:45 AM to 12:45PM and service at 1PM  in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford, VA followed by graveside remarks in Greenwood Cemetery.  Services will be lead by Sally\"™s grandson, Reverend C. Andrew Carr. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 540.586.3443, is assisting the family.
