Sammie R. Lynch

Sammie Richard Lynch, 69, of Bedford, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his residence. Born March 30, 1940 in Bedford County, a son of the late Edna Saunders Lynch and Orie Lynch.

 Sammie was a retiree of Rubatex Corp. with 35 years of service. He was a wonderful husband and father. Family and friends knew him as a true rock of strength and anchor within his community.

 In addition to his parents, Sammie was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Marie Lynch and a son, Brian Curtis \"Bubba\" Lynch. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Katie Overstreet Lynch; two sons, Sammy Richard \"Buck\" Lynch, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie of Goodview and Willie Richard Lynch and his wife, Laurie of Bedford; a sister-in-law, Helen Lynch; and three nephews, Claude Lynch, Danny Lynch and James Lynch.

 The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Bedford Hospice Care for all their help and support.

 A celebration of Sammie\"™s life will be conducted at 11 AM, Friday, January 29, 2010 in the Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Altice officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Memorial Gardens (formerly Holy Land Cemetery). The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, 586-3443.
