Samuel H. Dews

Samuel Henry “Junie” Dews, 72 years old, was born July 13, 1950, to the late Sam Henry Dews and Belva Jean Harvey. He entered eternal rest on June 11, 2023, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

In addition to his father and mother, Sam was proceeded in death by his sister Ruby Johnson and a nephew Gary Lee Callaham.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Dews of 20 years. Two stepchildren Christopher Jones and Tawanna Jones. Two granddaughters: Nyema Jones and Jayla White; two nieces: Lisa Johnson and Quanna Pannell; two nephews: Reginold Wayne Johnson and T.C. Callaham; two sisters: Rosa Dews Callaham and Theresa Pannell; Devoted mother-in-law: Evelyn Smith; Brothers in law: Michael Jones (Angie) and Charles Smith; Sisters in law: Kimberly Cox, Margie Miller (Jessie) and Patricia Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
