Sandra Miller Gardner, 72, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012. She was the wife of the late Miles Robert (Bob) Gardner.
Born November 15, 1939, the daughter of the late McCoy (Coy) Mumford Miller and the late Eva Thompson Miller.
Sandra was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church, a 40+ year member of Beta Sigma Phi Service Sorority, an avid collector and member of the Seven Hills Depression Glass Club, active in E.C. Glass High School and Lynchburg College alumni activities. Her life was immeasurably enriched by the friendship and sisterhood of her dear friends of Beta Sigma Phi.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Gardner of Charlottesville; mother-in-law: Hattie Gardner Brown of Clifton Forge; a brother-in-law: Delbert Glenn Nicely of Forest; a niece: Linda Nicely Shields of Lynchburg; cousins: Al Thompson and Glen Miller both of Lynchburg; Eva Thompson Tuck of Tampa, Fl., Michael & Sheryl Tuck of Gainesville, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00- 3:00pm. Monday, November 19, 2012, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Celebration of Sandra\"™s life will follow at 3:00 p.m.
