Sarah Elizabeth Williams Cross

May 10, 1918 — June 24, 2014

Elizabeth Cross, 96 of Madison Heights, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Thomas Nicholas Cross. Born Friday, May 10, 1918 in Halifax County; she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Williams and the late Vallie Woodson Myers.

 

Elizabeth was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Fellowship Bible Class, PEP (People Enjoying People) Club, and the United Methodist Women.

 

Elizabeth is survived by her children: Connie Taylor and Jim of Lynchburg, Preston Cross and Sharon of Newport News; two half-sisters; Nellie Parker of Rustburg and Juanita Wright of Halifax, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Cross.

 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Fort Hill Memorial Park, with Reverend Carlton Duck officiating.
