Lynchburg, Virginia

Sean Michael Childers, born on January 12, 1982, in Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on April 30, 2025. He was a beloved member of his community, known for his vibrant personality and passionate spirit.

As an accomplished chef and manager in the restaurant industry, Sean made a significant impact on his coworkers and the many community members who had the pleasure of knowing him. His culinary skills were not only remarkable but were also a reflection of the joy he found in sharing good food and good times with those around him.

Sean was not just a dedicated professional, he was a devoted family man. He cherished every moment spent with his family, especially celebrating traditions. Halloween held a special place in his heart, serving as one of many occasions that brought his family together. His deep bond with his brother, Ian, was evident through their countless adventures attending musical events, beach trips, and camping trips – experiences that helped solidify a lifelong friendship.

Beyond his career and family life, Sean was an avid fisherman, often spending nights on the bank of the James River. The simplicity of fishing brought him peace, whether he was casting a line alone or with friends. His love for the outdoors extended to camping, where he enjoyed spending time with close friends and family. Sean had a lifelong love for football and a deep loyalty to the Washington Commanders. His presence will be truly missed on game days.

Sean's infectious personality drew people to him – he was truly the life of the party. His unique way of communicating, characterized by a language developed among his coworkers, became a source of humor and camaraderie. Sean's playful phrases and inventive sayings would undoubtedly have filled the pages of his own dictionary.

Above all, Sean’s proudest accomplishment was being a father to his beloved daughter, Kayla. No greater joy existed for him than his role as her dad, and she was the central focus of every choice he made. His unwavering love and commitment to her will always be remembered and cherished.
