Some people only dream of angels; we held one in our arms.

Our precious little angel, Seneca Sandidge Jr., beloved infant son of Seneca Sandidge and Kara Cook, of Madison Heights, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. We may have only held you in our arms for a moment, but we will hold you in our hearts forever.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four siblings, Memphis Sandidge, Malik Sandidge, Abria Sandidge, and Myliah Parrish; paternal grandparent, Brenda Wesley; maternal grandparents, Freida and Bucky Gillispie, and Bruce Cook; aunt on Seneca’s side, Katrina Sandidge; aunt on Kara’s side, Jamie Goff; cousins on Seneca’s side, Carina Watts, Camile Watts, and Kania Sandidge; cousins on Kara’s side, Noah Goff and Alona Seamster; and a host of additional aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by paternal grandparent, Fred Sandidge; and maternal grandparent, Pat Cook. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Tharp Funeral Home, 118 Commonwealth Drive, Madison Heights. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 650 Thrashers Creek Road, Amherst. The family would like to thank the staff of The Birth Center at Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia, for the compassionate and empathetic care provided to the entire family. The family greatly appreciates all of the help, prayers, and concerns extended to us during this difficult time.

For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

~ Psalm 139:13-14

…and to think, the first thing he saw when his little eyes opened was the face of Jesus.
