Shameek Laquan Thomas, (Poodie) as he was affectionately called by family and close friends also known as Meshia Saint Thomas, was born may 26 1992 to Shatisha Thomas and Rafael Saunders weighing 8lbs 3oz at Virginia Baptist hospital at 8:03 pm. It was a gorgeous day the sun was shining so bright both of his grandmas were waiting so patiently to see and hold him. He owned the room with his presence and from that day on his presence filled every room he walked into, he demanded attention.
Poodie was educated in the Lynchburg City school system and as soon as he entered E.C. Glass High School he began to shine. He enjoyed acting, singing, dancing, and could play almost any instrument he put his hands on, he played the organ for the very first time at his grandfather’s funeral.
Shameek (Poodie) attended CVCC and began working locally in various sectors, as he has numerous interests. His presence was felt in every position he held.
He loved his family and friends and was always willing to go the extra mile for anyone, doing anything he could. His smile and laughter were contagious.
Preceding him in death was his maternal grandfather Roosevelt James Mosley. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Shatisha Thomas, Father, Rafael Saunders, Maternal grandmother Cirell Mosley, paternal grandparents Kathleen Saunders and William Roger Clark. 3 brothers, Carlton (Spanky) Thomas of Lynchburg, Ramon A. Gilbert of. Boston, Mass, Shakir M Chamers of Fayetteville, NC, sisters Eternity Thomas, JordiaHanne Saunders, Naudie Saunders, Jasleighina Saunders, all of Lynchburg. Uncle Emmanuel “Chris” Thomas(Melissa); Aunt Dion Saunders; Nephews Shadeen Reynolds, Niece Rmani Gilbert of Lynchburg and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
A service will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 1:00pm at Tharp Funeral Home. A visitation will take place one hour prior. The family is receiving true friends at 210 East Cadbury Dr Lynchburg Va. 24501, and also at 2110 Preston Street, Lynchburg ,Va 24504.
