Sharon Weidenkopf Chalmers, 69, of Lynchburg, Va., died Thursday, May 21, 2015. She was the wife of the late Fred Chalmers.
Born Thursday, January 31, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, Sharon was the daughter of the late Robert Weidenkopf and the late Erna Reinke Weidenkopf.
Sharon is survived by her son, Frederick Todd Chalmers of Richmond, Virginia; her daughter, Melanie Chalmers Ellis; her son-in-law, David Ellis; and her two grandsons, Fletcher Todd Ellis and Beau MacKay Ellis of Lynchburg.
Sharon attended Dyke College in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the secretary at Paul Munro Elementary School for 25 years and a member of the Perceptor Gamma Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for 35 years. In addition to being a loving mother, grandmother, sorority sister, and friend, she was an avid shopper and enjoyed her time with her family by winning at cards.
The family invites friends to celebrate Sharon’s life at the Dish, 1120 Main Street in Lynchburg on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, beginning at 6 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Spring Hill Cemetery.
