Sharon Wells Cheek, 54, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, June 29, 2017. She was the wife of the late Eddie Willard Cheek, Jr.
Sharon was born May 19, 1963 in Lewiston, Maine, a daughter of Lawrence Osborne Wells of Forest and the late Marion Kirk Wells. Sharon worked at the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services as a case worker and attended Heritage Baptist Church.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two sisters, Anita Smith and her husband, Tom, and Julie Farley and her husband, Brian all of Forest; two brothers, Edward Wells and his wife, Vicky, of Evington, and Daniel Wells and his wife, Joy, of Simpsonville, S.C.; and her step-mother, Faye Wells of Forest.
In addition to her husband and mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Wells.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Interment will be held at the Monmouth Ridge Cemetery in Maine at a later date.
