Sharon Y. Lozier, 86, of Lynchburg, VA, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. For the past 18 months she has been living in Runk & Pratt Memory Care in Forest, VA. Even though it has been a difficult year for family to visit, we were blessed to have a family member with her when she went home to be with the Lord.
Sharon was born in Binghamton, NY on July 13, 1934. She attended Vestal High School and Erie County Technical Institute graduating as a Dental Hygienist in 1954. Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Lozier of 63 years, her parents Martin and Viola Neily and her sister, Patricia Cody.
Sharon, is survived by her son, Dale Lozier and wife Kari Lozier of Vestal, NY; daughter, Beth Sipantzi and husband Terri Sipantzi of Forest, VA; and daughter, Tina Waldo and husband Mark Waldo of Gretna, VA. She also has many grandchildren and great-grandchild who were the love of her life and will deeply miss her.
Sharon loved her family and was very involved in serving at her church. She was an avid reader of mysteries and adventures. She and her husband enjoyed camping and many years of traveling in their motorhome. While living in Apalachin, NY, she was active in Garden Club, talented seamstress, and enjoyed many crafting projects: photo albums, quilting, refinishing furniture, etc. Baking creative birthday cakes for each member of her family, especially her grandchildren, made for very fond memories. She will always be loved and remembered for her gift of hospitality and making every occasion special.
Even though she has spent the past 15 years living in Lynchburg, she would consider Vestal, NY her hometown where she lived for most of her life and raised her family.
The family will be doing a graveside service in Vestal, NY at a later date. They would like to thank all those who faithfully prayed for her.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Virginia. We greatly appreciated the caring staff of Runk & Pratt and Hospice who attended to here needs during this time.
Tharpe Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
