Sharyn Ann Mitchell, 65, of Forest, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, November 9, 2014. She was the loving wife of Michael Mitchell for 40 years.

Sharyn was born May 14, 1949, in Maddock North Dakota. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, and friend. Sharyn graduated from Arizona State University and was an elementary school teacher in Orange County, California. When she married Michael, she became a full-time pastor’s wife and then a full-time mother to her two children, Michael and Charis. Sharyn was a writer and painter who homeschooled both of her children and maintained a giving, loving spirit that welcomed everyone. She was actively involved in many aspects of church ministry, including teaching Sunday school, sharing her spiritual gifts involving prayer and healing, and teaching women’s seminars for churches across the country. She was known for her creativity, kind heart, empathy, and sense of humor.

Sharyn is preceded by her parents Helen and Thomas Tate and her brother Dean Tate. She is survived by her husband, Michael Mitchell, her two children, Michael Mitchell Jr. and Charis Mitchell, her sister Eldray Hendrix of Kansas City, Kansas, and her brother Jay Tate of Scottsdale, Arizona.

A celebration of Sharyn’s life will be conducted at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, with Dr. Leo Percer officiating.
