Sherman Burnley

Sherman Daniel (Dan) Burnley, 83, of Forest, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born on May 31, 1933, he was the son of the late John and Lelia Burnley of Amherst. He was preceded in death by Martha Neal Burnley, his dearly beloved wife of 42 years.

Dan is survived by his sister, Lucille Lawhorne of Lynchburg, and four sons, Calvin Burnley of Gretna (sons Levi Burnley, Travis Michaels, and daughter Courtney Burnley), Dale Burnley and his wife, Tina, of Lynchburg (son Dale Burnley, Jr., daughters Felicia Templeton and Zoey Burnley), Michael Burnley and his wife Debra, of Lynchburg (daughters Sophia Talbott, Christie Burnley, and Ashley Chapa), Chris Burnley and his wife, Becky, of Forest (sons Carter, Corbin, and Cade Burnley), step son, Allen Bowyer and his wife, Lisa, of Lynchburg (daughters Caitlyn and Cassidy, son Zach Bowyer); also 11 great-grandchildren.
