Sherman D. Burton

Sherman D. Burton, Jr., 76, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, November 19, 2018. He was the husband of the late Jo Ann Burton.

He is survived by his son Sean Burton of Appomattox,  his daughter Amy Dietrich of Lynchburg, grandchildren Bryce and Dylan Burton, great grandchildren Peyton and Zylen Burton, and a brother Mike Burton of West Virginia.

He took such pride in his children and they were the apple of his eye. He had a huge heart and would help anyone any way he could. He had a thirst for knowledge and was always learning and researching something new. He lived a long, interesting, full life before winding down in his older years. His recent pastimes include reading, walking the dog, and a new found appreciation of Netflix. He was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys. He was so loved and will be so missed.

The family will receive friends at the homes of his children throughout the week.
