Shirley Ann Ring

Shirley Ann Branch Ring, 81, of Thaxton, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at her residence. She was born January 17, 1931 in Bluefield, WV, a daughter of the late Hattie Lucille Byrd Branch and Wiley Thomas Branch.

She attended Thaxton United Methodist Church. She was also a Travel Clerk with over 20 years of service with the Dept. of Defense.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Ring; a son, Robert Thomas Ring; a daughter, Karin Beverly Ring Walker; and a great-granddaughter, Brittany Dawn Bolte. She is survived by three children, Jeffrey (Ringo) Ring and his wife, Mary, Cheryl Byrd- Branch Ring and Patricia Ring Carhart; nine grandchildren, Robert J. Ring, Kaylin N. Ring, Gabrielle A. Ring, Jesse T. Harris, Trevor J. Harris, Nathan M. Harris, Evan D. Harris, April Carhart Bayse (Bubby) and Michelle G. Carhart (Mike); three great-grandkids, David (Bubba) Ring, Brandon Bayse and Hailey Carhart.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Bedford Hospice for taking great care of Shirley.
