Shirley Clark Jefferson
Shirley Clark Jefferson, age 81, died on March 13, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of Glenn E. Jefferson, Sr. for over 64 years. She was the daughter of the late Howard D. Clark and Lillie Adams Clark.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and two infant daughters, Sandra Lynn and Beverly Gayle Jefferson.
She is survived by her husband, three children, Dr. Glenn Jefferson, Jr. and his wife Frosty of Lewiston, Idaho, Sue Lillard and her husband Steve of the Eastern Shore, and Dr. Terry W. Jefferson and his wife Julie of Forest, seven grandchildren, Philip Lillard and wife Sarah, Laura Lillard and fianc̩e Aaron Henriksen, Ashley Lillard, Laura Thayer and her husband John, Sara Bennett and her husband Randy, Andrew Jefferson and his wife Jessica Sitnik, and Jessica Jefferson, eight great grandchildren, Miles, Isaiah, Lain, Maya, Morgan, Josie, Carson, and Cain, three siblings, Faye Muller, Carlton Clark and his wife Bonnie, Jean Jamison and her husband Tom, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She was a full-time mother and homemaker, everyone enjoyed her cooking, especially her desserts. She enjoyed bird watching, fishing, golfing, canoeing, hiking, and camping. She was an accomplished artist and seamstress. She was a loyal charter member of the Hyland Heights Baptist church, and enjoyed working in the nursery. She was a volunteer for Centra Health at Lynchburg General Hospital for many years.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 15 from 6:30 to 8:00 at Tharp Funeral Home and at other times at the residence. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Hyland Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Carl Weiser officiating.
