Shirley Gail Ruble

Shirley Gail Ruble,75, of Lynchburg, passed away on January 11, 2023. She was born on August 21, 1947, to the late Edward Ruble Jr. and Christine Ryan Ruble.
Gail was a 1965 graduate of Brookville High School and a 1966 graduate of Phillips Business College. She worked for the Lynchburg Police Dept. from 1966 – 1976 where she served as secretary to the Youth Bureau. After leaving there she worked for the Lynchburg Foundry from 1976 until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of Forest Road United Methodist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her sister, Glenda Ruble West (Mike); her nephew, Ryan Bierowski (Laura) and their children, Landon, Laylah, and Laney; niece, Amy McMurray (Nathan), and their children, Aurora and Silas; niece, Julie Evans and her children, Kaitlyn and Caleb.
A visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on January 21, 2023 at 1 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Stacy, Martha, Brenda, Karma, Abby, the many doctors, and nurses at Centra, the Centra Palliative Care team, as well as First Dominion Home Health. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Forest Road United Methodist Church.
